Michael Waldron

Michael Waldron (born April 23, 1987, in West Orange, New Jersey) is an American writer and producer recognized for shaping some of the most talked-about genre storytelling in recent TV and blockbuster film. Known primarily for his screenwriting, Waldron has built a reputation for high-concept narratives, sharp character turns, and ambitious world-building.

He first gained wider attention through his work on the animated hit Rick and Morty (2019–2020), before moving into prestige drama with Heels (2021–2023). His profile rose dramatically when he created Marvel Studios’ Loki (2021–2023), where he also served as head writer and executive producer, helping expand the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s multiverse storytelling on television.

Waldron then brought that multiverse scale to the big screen as the writer of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022). He has also been announced as the screenwriter for upcoming MCU tentpoles Avengers: Doomsday (2026) and Avengers: Secret Wars (2027). In addition, he has appeared in behind-the-scenes and documentary-style projects such as Marvel Studios Assembled, offering insight into his creative process.
