Mick Lauer

Mick Lauer (also known as Rice Pirate) is a Washington, D.C.-born screen artist known for acting across film, web projects, and voice work. Raised in Asia and of mixed Taiwanese and white heritage, Lauer brings a global perspective to character-driven performances.

He trained extensively in performance, earning a degree in Performance Studies from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. His education includes conservatory time with the Atlantic Theater Company, a year of study at London’s Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts, and a final-year focus on on-camera film and television work at StoneStreet Studio. He has also sharpened his comedic instincts through improvisation training at UCB in New York.

Lauer’s screen credits include In Space with Markiplier and In Space with Markiplier: Part 2 as Gunther B. Gunnerson/Detective, plus roles in A Heist with Markiplier, Joy Incorporated, The Viewer, Satan Hates You, and The Woman Who Split Before Dinner. He has expanded into voice performance as well, contributing additional voices to Hazbin Hotel: Sing-Along, with voice-acting training at Edge Studio under Jay Snyder (Dan Green).
