Mike P. Nelson

Mike P. Nelson (also credited as Michael Paul Nelson, Michael Nelson, and Mike Nelson) is an American screen artist and filmmaker born on December 18, 1982, in Saint Paul, Minnesota. Working primarily as a director, he has built a reputation for energetic genre storytelling and a grounded, character-forward approach to horror.

Nelson is best known for steering modern horror features including The Domestics (2018) and the franchise reboot Wrong Turn (2021). His filmography also includes Silent Night, Deadly Night (2025), further cementing his place among contemporary directors revitalizing classic horror brands for new audiences.

Beyond directing, Nelson’s credits reflect hands-on experience across productions. He appears in small, sometimes uncredited roles such as a Horned Gambler in The Domestics and a customer in Edge of Insanity, and he is associated with titles like One Minnesota and Summer School.
