Na Hong-jin
Na Hong-jin (also credited as 나홍진, Na Hong-Jin, and 罗泓轸) is a South Korean director and screenwriter born on January 1, 1974, in Seoul, South Korea. He is widely associated with tightly constructed, high-tension storytelling and has become a notable voice in contemporary Korean cinema.
Na broke through with his feature debut The Chaser (2008), a film that quickly established his reputation for propulsive pacing and sharp suspense. The project earned him the Best Director prize at the 45th Grand Bell Awards, where the film also took home Best Film, marking a major early milestone in his career.
He followed with The Yellow Sea, released in South Korea on December 15, 2010. The film continued to expand his international profile and was selected to screen in the Un Certain Regard section at the 2011 Cannes Film Festival.
Beyond his directing work, Na has appeared in credits such as Code(s) Polar (as Self), reflecting his presence within the broader film community.
