Naomie Harris (also credited as Naomie Melanie Harris) is an English screen actress born on September 6, 1976, in Islington, London. Of Jamaican and Trinidadian heritage, she has built a career defined by range—moving effortlessly between intimate dramas, action spectacles, and long-running franchises.
She broke through for many audiences with her fierce, grounded performance as Selena in 28 Days Later, and soon after stepped into major studio territory as Detective Trudy Joplin in Miami Vice. Harris became a standout in the Pirates of the Caribbean saga as the enigmatic Tia Dalma, appearing in Dead Man’s Chest and At World’s End, and continued to expand her filmography with roles in titles such as After the Sunset and Street Kings.
