Neal H. Moritz
Neal H. Moritz (also credited as Neal Moritz; ニール・モリッツ) is an American producer born on June 6, 1959, in Los Angeles, California. As the founder of Original Film, he has become one of Hollywood’s most influential hitmakers, steering big-scale entertainment across film and television.
Over a career spanning decades, Moritz has produced more than 70 studio features, with worldwide box-office totals reported in the tens of billions by the early 2020s. He is closely associated with franchise building—most notably Fast & Furious, Jump Street, and Sonic the Hedgehog—and has helped shape popular TV through series such as Prison Break and the Emmy-nominated The Boys.
Before the mega-franchises, Moritz earned attention with late-1990s thrillers and teen dramas including I Know What You Did Last Summer, Urban Legend, and Cruel Intentions, establishing a knack for commercially sharp, audience-forward storytelling.
He has also appeared on screen in small roles and documentary contexts, with credits ranging from The Merchants of Cool and Urban Legacy: The Story Behind Urban Legend (as himself) to playful cameos in The Fast and the Furious, 2 Fast 2 Furious, and S.W.A.T..
