Nelson Franklin

Nelson Franklin (born July 2, 1985) is an American screen actor known for smart, offbeat comedy and scene-stealing supporting turns across film and television. Raised in California in a creative household—his father, Howard Franklin, worked as a screenwriter and director—Franklin later trained as a performer at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts after attending Campbell Hall School in Studio City.

He first broke through with a recurring role on NBC’s The Office as Nick, the deadpan I.T. employee whose appearances became a fan-favorite running gag. Franklin soon expanded into series regular work, including the FOX comedy Traffic Light, and continued building a steady TV presence with roles on CBS’s The Millers and guest spots on New Girl, HBO’s Veep, Black-ish, and Abby’s.

Alongside television, Franklin’s film credits highlight his range, from Jobs (as Bill Atkinson) to indie and comedy titles like Waiting for Forever (Joe) and Answer This! (James Koogly). He has also taken on quirky character work in projects such as Hello Ladies: The Movie and Ghost Phone, while keeping a foothold in web comedy through side projects including a Funny or Die short.
