Newton Thomas Sigel
Newton Thomas Sigel (also credited as Tom Sigel, Thomas Sigel, and N. Thomas Sigel) is an American cinematographer from Detroit, Michigan. A member of the ASC, Sigel has built a career around shaping mood, movement, and visual clarity behind the camera.
He is especially recognized for his long-running creative partnership with director Bryan Singer, a collaboration that helped define the sleek, high-impact look of several major studio projects. Across genres, Sigel’s work is often associated with controlled lighting, confident framing, and a polished cinematic finish.
Beyond narrative filmmaking, Sigel has also appeared as himself in a range of film and craft-focused documentaries.
