Nina Dobrev
Nina Dobrev (born January 9, 1989, in Sofia, Bulgaria) is a Canadian screen actor who grew up in Toronto and built an international profile across television and film. Also credited as Nikolina Konstantinova Dobreva and known in Bulgarian as Николина Константинова Добрева, she moved from early supporting parts into starring roles with notable range.
Dobrev first drew wide attention on teen TV as Mia Jones in Degrassi: The Next Generation. She later became a pop-culture fixture on The CW’s The Vampire Diaries, where she played both Elena Gilbert and Katherine Pierce, showcasing a dual performance that helped define the series’ success and her breakout status.
Expanding into features, she appeared in a mix of drama, comedy, and genre projects, including The Perks of Being a Wallflower, Let’s Be Cops, The Final Girls, and Flatliners, with a major commercial boost from XXX: Return of Xander Cage. Her filmography also includes credits such as Away from Her, Chloe, The Roommate, and The Out-Laws, alongside romantic comedies like Love Hard and TV work including the sitcom Fam.
