Ol Parker

Ol Parker (born June 2, 1969, in London, England) is an English screen artist best known for writing, with additional work as a television writer and director. Working across TV and film, Parker has built a reputation for character-driven storytelling and a steady presence in British screen entertainment.

In his personal life, Parker married actress Thandiwe Newton in 1997. Their connection also extended to the screen: Newton appeared in Parker’s first feature film, It Was an Accident (2000), marking an early milestone in his filmmaking career.

Parker was born Oliver Parker, but later adopted the first name “Ol.” The change helped distinguish him from another Oliver Parker—the director of the 1999 film An Ideal Husband—and has since become the professional name associated with his writing and directing credits.
