Olivia Wilde
Olivia Wilde (born Olivia Jane Cockburn on March 10, 1984, in New York City) is an American-Irish screen artist best known for her work as an actor, while also building a parallel career behind the camera as a director and producer. She first gained wide recognition on television as Dr. Remy “Thirteen” Hadley on the long-running medical drama House.
On film, Wilde has moved easily between genres, from edgy ensemble dramas to big-scale science fiction. Her notable credits include TRON: Legacy as Quorra, Alpha Dog as Angela Holden, The Death and Life of Bobby Z as Elizabeth, and The Next Three Days as Nicole. She also appeared in titles such as Turistas, Fix, and Bickford Shmeckler’s Cool Ideas, and made a brief uncredited appearance in Ghostbusters: Afterlife.
Wilde expanded her range with stage work, making her Broadway debut in 2017. In 2019, she stepped into the director’s chair with the acclaimed coming-of-age comedy Booksmart, earning major industry recognition for her first feature. She later directed the thriller Don’t Worry Darling (2022), in which she also appeared, continuing to shape a career defined by versatility and ambition.
