Oren Uziel
Oren Uziel (born June 28, 1974) is an American screenwriter, director, and producer whose career has spanned action, comedy, and high-concept sci-fi. Known primarily for writing, he has helped shape modern studio entertainment with scripts that balance sharp pacing, genre play, and crowd-pleasing set pieces.
Uziel drew early attention with Mortal Kombat: Rebirth (2010), a project that showcased a grounded, cinematic take on a well-known franchise. He later expanded his profile in mainstream comedy with 22 Jump Street (2014), contributing to the sequel’s fast, self-aware style and its blend of action and humor.
His filmography also includes the ambitious sci-fi entry The Cloverfield Paradox (2018), which connected to the larger Cloverfield universe, and the adventure-romance hit The Lost City (2022).
