Patrick Hughes
Patrick Hughes (born May 13, 1978, in Melbourne, Australia) is an Australian screen artist best known for his work as a director and screenwriter. With a background shaped by Australian filmmaking, Hughes has built a career around energetic, audience-driven storytelling and a flair for action-forward cinema.
While directing remains his primary calling card, Hughes has also appeared on screen in a handful of projects. He is credited as himself in The Making of The Expendables 3, and has taken small acting roles such as an uncredited Interpol agent in The Hitman's Bodyguard, a bouncer in Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard, and Master Sergeant Hughes (Blackhawk) in War Machine.
These varied credits highlight a filmmaker comfortable both behind the camera and, when needed, in front of it—often within the same action-comedy space that defines much of his public profile. Hughes continues to be recognized as a Melbourne-born director whose work bridges sharp pacing, spectacle, and mainstream appeal.
