Patton Oswalt
Patton Oswalt (also credited as Patton Peter Oswalt) is an American actor, comedian, and writer born on January 27, 1969, in Portsmouth, Virginia. He started building his reputation on stand-up stages in the late 1980s, sharpening a smart, pop-culture-savvy voice that would later translate seamlessly to television, film, and voice work.
After writing for MADtv and headlining an HBO comedy special, Oswalt expanded into screen acting with early film work and a long-running TV presence, including his memorable run on The King of Queens. He has remained a dependable fixture in comedy projects, from ensemble films to documentary-style appearances such as Harmontown, often bringing an offbeat sincerity to his characters.
Oswalt’s most widely recognized role is voicing Remy in Pixar’s Ratatouille, a performance that helped cement him as a standout in animation. His credits also include Reno 911!: Miami, 80 for Brady, I Love My Dad, and multiple live and televised comedy showcases.
In his personal life, Oswalt married writer Michelle Eileen McNamara in 2005; they had a daughter, Alice, in 2009. Following McNamara’s death in 2016, he later married actress Meredith Salenger in 2017.
