Peter Dinklage

Peter Dinklage (also credited as Peter Hayden Dinklage) is an American screen actor born on June 11, 1969, in Morristown, New Jersey. Raised in the Jersey Shore region, he trained at Bennington College, sharpening his craft through stage work before moving into film and television.

Dinklage first drew attention in the indie satire Living in Oblivion (1995), then broke through with a quietly powerful lead in The Station Agent, playing Finbar McBride. From there, he became a scene-stealer across genres, with standout turns in Elf (as Miles Finch), Find Me Guilty (Ben Klandis), Penelope (Lemon), and Death at a Funeral (Peter), plus fantasy fare like The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian as Trumpkin.

Worldwide recognition followed with HBO’s Game of Thrones, where his portrayal of Tyrion Lannister earned record-setting Emmy wins for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series, along with major honors including a Golden Globe and a Screen Actors Guild Award.
