Peter Guber
Peter Guber (also known as Howard Peter Guber, born March 2, 1942, in Boston, Massachusetts) is an American producer and media entrepreneur whose career bridges Hollywood storytelling and big-picture business. He leads Mandalay Entertainment as chairman and CEO, overseeing a slate of films that have generated more than $3 billion worldwide and earned around 50 Academy Award nominations.
Beyond film, Guber is a high-profile sports investor, with ownership stakes spanning the NBA’s Golden State Warriors, the WNBA’s Golden State Valkyries, MLB’s Los Angeles Dodgers, MLS’s Los Angeles Football Club, and the esports group aXiomatic Gaming, including a controlling interest in Team Liquid. He has also held major leadership roles in entertainment television, including chairing Dick Clark Productions, known for producing the American Music Awards and the Golden Globe Awards.
Guber’s influence extends into education and commentary: he serves as a Regent of the University of California and teaches at UCLA’s School of Theater, Film and Television and the Anderson School of Management. He also spent a decade as an entertainment and media analyst for Fox Business.
As an author, he is best known for the No. 1 New York Times bestseller Tell to Win, and for books that explore Hollywood’s realities and the power of narrative—an expertise reflected in his documentaries and on-screen appearances as himself.
