Peter Rice

Peter Rice (born January 1, 1966, in the UK) is a British producer and media executive whose career has helped shape modern television and general entertainment on a global scale. Best known for his leadership roles in major studios, Rice is widely associated with the business and creative strategy behind high-profile screen content.

Over three decades, he became a key figure at 21st Century Fox, where he worked from 1989 to 2019 and ultimately served as the company’s president. During that period, Rice helped guide development and production operations across a rapidly changing media landscape, balancing traditional broadcast strengths with evolving audience habits.

Following Disney’s acquisition of Fox assets, Rice moved into a top role at The Walt Disney Company. He later served as chairman of Disney General Entertainment Content, overseeing a broad portfolio spanning television and streaming-focused entertainment. His tenure is often noted for steering large-scale content organizations through industry consolidation and transformation.

Rice remains recognized as an influential behind-the-scenes screen leader, known for shaping the direction of entertainment brands and the production ecosystems that deliver them.
