Peter Spierig

Peter Spierig (born April 29, 1976, in Buchholz in der Nordheide, Germany) is an Australian screen artist best known for directing. He is widely recognized as one half of The Spierig Brothers, the filmmaking partnership he shares with his twin brother, Michael Spierig.

Working under their collective name, the brothers have built a reputation as writer-director-producers with a distinctive genre sensibility, often pairing high-concept storytelling with polished, atmospheric craft. Peter’s work is closely associated with this collaborative identity, which has become a familiar credit for audiences who follow modern science fiction and horror cinema.

Beyond narrative filmmaking, Spierig has also appeared on screen as himself in film and bonus-feature projects. His notable self-credited appearances include All You Zombies: Bringing 'Predestination' to Life, Not Quite Hollywood, The Making of Daybreakers, and I Speak for the Dead: The Legacy of Jigsaw, offering viewers a behind-the-scenes perspective on contemporary genre production.
