Phil Lord

Phil Lord (born July 12, 1975, in Miami, Florida) is an American filmmaker and producer celebrated for smart, fast-paced comedy and inventive animation. Working closely with creative partner Christopher Miller, Lord has helped shape some of the most influential mainstream animated and comedy projects of the last two decades.

Lord first gained major attention as a co-creator and performer on the cult animated series Clone High, where he also voiced Principal Dr. Cinnamon J. Scudworth. He then moved into feature filmmaking, co-writing and directing the animated hit Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs and later steering the modern comedy revival with 21 Jump Street and 22 Jump Street.

As a producer and key creative force behind the Spider-Verse films, Lord has been central to redefining what superhero animation can look and feel like. The series earned top industry recognition, including an Academy Award win for Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and continued acclaim with Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, where he also contributed additional voice work.

Beyond films, Lord appears as himself in behind-the-scenes specials and doc projects such as A LEGO Brickumentary and LEGO Masters, underscoring his ongoing impact on pop culture storytelling across formats.
