Philip Barantini
Philip Barantini (also credited as Phil Barantini and 菲利普·巴兰蒂尼) is a Liverpool-born British screen artist whose career spans directing, producing, writing, and acting. Born on July 13, 1980, he has become closely associated with high-pressure, real-time storytelling and ambitious “one-shot” filmmaking.
Barantini drew major attention as the director of Boiling Point (2021), a tightly wound drama celebrated for its immersive, continuous-take approach. He expanded that world with the Boiling Point follow-up series (2023) and later directed the miniseries Adolescence (2025), continuing a creative partnership with actor Stephen Graham across these projects.
Before his breakout behind the camera, Barantini built a substantial acting résumé, with screen credits including Band of Brothers, Dream Team, and The Responder. His earlier film work includes roles in titles such as Ned Kelly, The Escapist, and Hard Boiled Sweets.
Today, Barantini is recognized for marrying performance-driven realism with technical precision—an approach that has helped position him as one of the UK’s most distinctive contemporary directors.
