Pierce Brosnan
Pierce Brosnan (also known as Pierce Brendan Brosnan) is an Irish-born actor and producer, born May 16, 1953, in Navan, County Meath. Holding both Irish and American citizenship, he has built a decades-long career defined by suave leading roles, sharp comic turns, and an enduring global profile.
After leaving school at 16, Brosnan initially pursued training in commercial illustration before committing fully to performance, studying for three years at London’s Drama Centre. He first established himself on stage, then became a household name through television with Remington Steele (1982–87), a breakthrough that opened the door to major film leads.
In 1995, Brosnan became the fifth official James Bond, headlining four 007 films from GoldenEye through Tomorrow Never Dies and beyond, and later lending his voice and likeness to the Bond video game Everything or Nothing. His filmography also spans crowd-pleasers and thrillers such as The Thomas Crown Affair, Mrs. Doubtfire, Mars Attacks!, The Tailor of Panama, and After the Sunset.
Beyond acting, Brosnan co-founded the Los Angeles-based production company Irish DreamTime with Beau St. Clair. In recent years he has been widely associated with charitable work and environmental advocacy, extending his influence well past the screen.
