Pierre Perifel
Pierre Perifel (born March 19, 1980, in Lyon, Rhône, France) is a French filmmaker and animator recognized for his directing work in modern animation, particularly through his long-running association with DreamWorks Animation.
Perifel is best known as the director of the feature film The Bad Guys, a stylish, character-driven caper that helped spotlight his knack for comedic timing and dynamic visual storytelling. He has also directed acclaimed short films including Bilby and Le Building, projects that further established his reputation for inventive animation and clear, punchy narrative craft.
His creative foundation was shaped by formal training at École Émile-Cohl and Gobelins, l’École de l’image—two of France’s most respected art and animation schools—before he moved into high-profile studio work.
In addition to directing, Perifel has appeared as himself in DreamWorks-related behind-the-scenes pieces such as Shooting For The Moon and Devise the Plan: Making 'The Bad Guys', offering audiences a closer look at his process and the collaborative world of animated filmmaking.
