Rachel Bloom

Rachel Bloom (born April 3, 1987, in Los Angeles, California) is an American screen artist whose work spans acting, comedy, music, writing, and producing. She first broke through online with sharp, song-driven sketches on YouTube, where her viral musical humor quickly drew industry attention.

Bloom became a household name after co-creating and starring as Rebecca Bunch in The CW’s musical comedy-drama Crazy Ex-Girlfriend (2015–2019). Her performance and creative leadership on the series earned major recognition, including a Golden Globe alongside multiple top TV honors, cementing her reputation as a singular comedic voice.

Beyond television, Bloom has built a varied film and voice portfolio. Her credits include Your Place or Mine (as Scarlet), The School for Good and Evil (as Honora), and voice work in projects such as Trolls Holiday in Harmony (Barb) and Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers. She has also appeared as herself in specials including Jane Fonda & Lily Tomlin: Ladies Night Live.

Expanding her storytelling beyond the screen, Bloom published the memoir I Want To Be Where The Normal People Are in 2020. In 2024, her one-woman show evolved into the Netflix comedy special Rachel Bloom: Death, Let Me Do My Special, following successful Off-Broadway runs.
