Rachel McAdams
Rachel McAdams (also credited as Rachel Anne McAdams) is a Canadian screen actor born on November 17, 1978, in London, Ontario. Trained in theatre at York University, she first built momentum in Canadian film and television, earning early acclaim for projects like Perfect Pie and award-winning work on the series Slings & Arrows.
Her Hollywood breakthrough arrived with The Hot Chick, but 2004 cemented her global profile: she became instantly recognizable as Regina George in Mean Girls and as Allie Hamilton in The Notebook. The following year showcased her range across genres, from the tense thriller Red Eye to the ensemble charm of The Family Stone.
McAdams continued to headline and elevate major films, including The Time Traveler’s Wife and Sherlock Holmes as Irene Adler. Her performance as journalist Sacha Pfeiffer in Spotlight brought Academy Award recognition, while blockbuster audiences know her from the Doctor Strange films.
