Ramon Tikaram

Ramon Tikaram (born May 16, 1967, in Singapore) is a British stage and screen actor known for bringing intensity and nuance to character-driven drama. Of Indo-Fijian and Southeast Asian heritage, he has built a career that moves confidently between television, film, and theatre.

On British TV, Tikaram became widely recognized for his work as Ferdy in the BBC series This Life, and later for portraying Qadim Shah on BBC One’s long-running soap EastEnders. Those roles helped establish him as a versatile performer with a strong presence in ensemble storytelling.

His film and documentary credits span romance, disaster drama, and genre fare, including Kama Sutra: A Tale of Love (Jai Kumar), Krakatoa: The Last Days (Tokaya), and Jupiter Ascending (Phylo Percadium). He has also lent his voice as a narrator in The King’s Cross Fire: 6 Hours That Shocked Britain, underscoring his range beyond on-camera acting.

Across decades of work, Tikaram has remained a distinctive figure in British acting—equally at home in period pieces, contemporary television, and ambitious international productions.
