Renate Reinsve

Renate Reinsve (also credited as Renate Hansen Reinsve) is a Norwegian screen actress born on November 24, 1987, in Solbergelva, Drammen. She emerged as a distinctive presence in Scandinavian cinema, gaining wider attention through acclaimed Norwegian features before breaking out internationally.

Reinsve is best known for her work in Oslo, August 31st (2011) and Welcome to Norway (2016), and for her star-making turn in The Worst Person in the World (2021). That performance earned her the Best Actress prize at the Cannes Film Festival in 2021—an historic first for a Norwegian actress at the event—and helped cement her as one of the most in-demand talents from the region.

Her recent run highlights a rapidly expanding global profile, including the Apple TV+ legal thriller series Presumed Innocent and A24’s satirical dark comedy A Different Man (as Ingrid), both released in 2024, alongside the thriller Armand (as Elizabeth). She has also appeared in projects such as Handling the Undead (as Anna), Another End (as Zoe-Ava), and Sentimental Value (as Nora Borg).
