Rob Brydon

Rob Brydon (born 3 May 1965 in Swansea, Wales) is a Welsh screen and stage performer best known for acting, comedy, impressions, and presenting across film, television, and radio. Working under his birth name Robert Brydon Jones, he has built a reputation for quick wit and character work, earning an MBE in 2013 for services to comedy, broadcasting, and charity.

Brydon first became widely recognized through acclaimed British comedies including Human Remains, Marion and Geoff, and the spoof chat format The Keith Barret Show (and Keith Barret Live). From 2007 to 2024 he played Bryn West in the BBC hit Gavin & Stacey, a role that brought him a BAFTA nomination and cemented his status as a household name.

On film, Brydon is closely associated with director Michael Winterbottom and frequent co-star Steve Coogan, notably in A Cock and Bull Story and the The Trip series. His credits also span family and fantasy fare, and he is a sought-after voice artist, heard in The Gruffalo, The Amazing Maurice, and Superworm.

As a presenter, Brydon has fronted BBC staples including Would I Lie to You?, while also showcasing his comic persona in projects like Rob Brydon Live. His career continues to bridge mainstream entertainment and sharp, character-driven satire.
