Robert Bolesto
Robert Bolesto (born 1980) is a Polish screenwriter recognized for shaping some of Poland’s most distinctive contemporary films. Working across genre and character-driven drama, he has built a reputation for bold storytelling and a clear authorial voice.
Bolesto is best known for his writing on The Lure, the cult musical-horror hybrid that helped introduce international audiences to a daring new strain of Polish cinema. He also co-wrote The Last Family, a critically acclaimed portrait of an artist’s household, praised for its sharp observation and emotional precision.
Another key credit, Hardkor Disko, underscores his interest in intensity, youth culture, and moral unease—themes that recur throughout his work. His approach often balances provocation with empathy, creating stories that linger beyond the final scene.
Bolesto has additionally appeared as himself in the documentary Off the Hook: The Making of 'The Lure', offering insight into the creative process behind one of his signature projects.
