Robert Tapert
Robert Tapert (born May 14, 1955, in Royal Oak, Michigan) is an American screen artist best known for his work in production across film and television. Also credited as Rip Tapert, Rob Tapert, and Rpb Tapert, he has built a career that spans behind-the-scenes leadership as well as occasional on-camera appearances.
Tapert is widely recognized as a co-creator of the hit fantasy-adventure series Xena: Warrior Princess, a pop-culture touchstone that helped shape syndicated television in the 1990s. His producing sensibility blends genre storytelling with audience-friendly momentum, contributing to projects that balance cult appeal and mainstream reach.
Beyond his producing profile, Tapert has appeared in or been featured as himself in documentaries and retrospectives tied to horror history, including The Making of 'Evil Dead II' or The Gore the Merrier and One by One We Will Take You: The Untold Saga of The Evil Dead. His film credits also include uncredited roles in titles such as The Evil Dead, Crimewave, and Freaked, reflecting a hands-on presence in the productions he supports.
