Robert Wade
Robert Wade (born January 1, 1962, in San Diego, California) is an American screenwriter best recognized for his work on the modern era of the James Bond franchise. Known primarily as a writer, Wade built his reputation through big-screen storytelling that balances classic spy-movie tradition with contemporary pacing and character beats.
Wade is most closely associated with a long-running creative partnership with fellow writer Neal Purvis. Together, they helped shape four Bond adventures, contributing to the tone and structure of a series that has continually reinvented itself for new audiences while retaining its signature intrigue, spectacle, and wit.
Beyond feature writing, Wade has appeared as himself in several Bond-related documentaries and behind-the-scenes projects, including The Sound of 007, Becoming Bond, and Die Another Day: From Script to Screen. His on-camera presence in titles such as The Road to Casino Royale and Shaken and Stirred on Ice underscores his role as a key voice in the franchise’s creative history.
