Roger McNamee
Roger McNamee (born May 2, 1956, in Albany, New York) is an American investor, entrepreneur, and musician whose on-screen presence often draws on his firsthand experience inside Silicon Valley. While he is best known professionally for shaping major technology investments, audiences also recognize him for candid media appearances that examine the modern tech industry’s impact.
McNamee is the founding partner of venture capital firm Elevation Partners. Before launching Elevation, he helped establish private equity powerhouse Silver Lake Partners and previously led the T. Rowe Price Science and Technology Fund—roles that positioned him at the center of tech’s rapid growth and the culture surrounding it.
As a screen artist, McNamee frequently appears as himself in documentaries and talk programs, offering perspective as an early Facebook investor and former mentor to Mark Zuckerberg. His notable credits include The Social Dilemma, The Great Hack, The Cost Of Convenience, Inside Facebook: Secrets of the Social Network, and Real Time with Bill Maher.
