Román Zaragoza

Román Zaragoza (born May 8, 1996, in New York City) is an American screen and voice actor whose work spans network comedy, prestige drama, and animation. Of mixed heritage—Akimel O’otham and Mexican through his father, and Japanese and Taiwanese through his mother—Zaragoza has become a visible presence in contemporary storytelling, bringing specificity and warmth to character-driven roles.

On television, he is widely recognized for portraying Sasappis on Ghosts, a performance that blends sharp comedic timing with emotional nuance. He has also appeared in series such as Stumptown (as Leigh Green) and Austin & Ally (as Miles), steadily building a résumé that moves comfortably between ensemble casts and standout supporting turns.

Zaragoza’s range extends into voice acting, including his role as Sokka in Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender, and into film credits like This Is Their Land (as Young Modoc) and Snow In Midsummer, where he takes on multiple parts. He has also appeared as himself on Carpool Karaoke: The Series.

Beyond screen work, Zaragoza has collaborated with Native Voices at the Autry, noted as the only Native American Equity theatre company in the United States—an experience that underscores his ongoing connection to Native-led performance and cultural representation.
