Sam Hargrave

Sam Hargrave (born November 26, 1982, in Hillsborough, North Carolina) is an American screen artist best known for shaping modern action cinema as a stunt performer, stunt coordinator, second-unit director, and filmmaker. His work blends physical storytelling with precise choreography, earning him a reputation for grounded, high-impact set pieces.

Hargrave rose to wider prominence through frequent collaborations with the Russo brothers, contributing as a key stunt coordinator on multiple blockbuster productions, including major entries in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. That partnership helped position him at the center of contemporary franchise filmmaking, where action design and character-driven momentum must move in lockstep.

He made his feature directing breakthrough with Extraction (2020), backed by the Russo brothers as writers and producers, and later continued expanding his directing profile with Extraction 2. He has also brought his expertise to premium television, serving as a second-unit director on season two of The Mandalorian.
