Sandra Hüller

Sandra Hüller (born April 30, 1978, in Suhl, former East Germany) is a German screen and stage actress celebrated for fearless, intelligent performances across European and international cinema. Working in German, Austrian, British, French, and American productions, she has built a reputation for roles that balance emotional precision with sharp, often unsettling realism.

She broke through with Hans-Christian Schmid’s drama Requiem, portraying Michaela Klingler and earning the Silver Bear for Best Actress. Hüller’s filmography quickly expanded with standout turns in Madonnas, The Architect, Brownian Movement, Finsterworld, and Above Us Only Sky, as well as a striking stage interpretation of Hamlet in the title role.

Her acclaim surged internationally in 2023 with two major leading performances: as Sandra Voyter in Justine Triet’s courtroom thriller Anatomy of a Fall and in Jonathan Glazer’s historical drama The Zone of Interest. The former brought major honors including a European Film Award and a César, alongside top-tier awards recognition. Across her career, Hüller has collected multiple European and German film prizes and has been recognized by major international academies.
