Scarlett Johansson (also credited as Scarlett Ingrid Johansson) is an American screen artist born on November 22, 1984, in New York City. Rising from child acting into one of modern cinema’s most bankable stars, she has topped industry pay rankings and appeared repeatedly on major celebrity lists, while her films have collectively earned billions worldwide.

Johansson began performing early, moving from stage work to her feature debut in North (1994). She drew wider attention with standout turns in The Horse Whisperer as Grace MacLean and Ghost World as Rebecca, before a decisive shift into adult-leading roles.
