Scoot McNairy

Scoot McNairy (born November 11, 1977, in Dallas, Texas) is an American screen actor and film producer known for grounded, quietly intense performances that elevate both indie dramas and studio features. Also credited as John Marcus Scoot McNairy and John ‘Scoot’ McNairy, he has built a career on characters that feel lived-in and unpredictable.

McNairy’s film work ranges from early turns in Wonderland (as Jack) and Herbie Fully Loaded (as Augie) to standout roles in Art School Confidential (Army-Jacket) and In Search of a Midnight Kiss (Wilson). He gained wider attention with the sci-fi thriller Monsters (as Andrew Kaulder) and later appeared in high-profile projects including Argo, Killing Them Softly (as Frankie), and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, continuing into recent titles such as Speak No Evil and Nightbitch.

On television, McNairy became a fan favorite as Gordon Clark in AMC’s Halt and Catch Fire, then expanded his range with roles in Godless, Narcos: Mexico, and True Detective Season 3.
