Tandi Wright

Tandi Wright (born May 4, 1970) is a New Zealand screen actress whose career spans popular television, independent film, and international productions. Born in Zambia, South Africa, she became widely recognized after breaking through on New Zealand’s long-running soap Shortland Street, where her work helped establish her as a familiar face to local audiences.

Wright is especially associated with character-driven series, earning attention for roles such as Fenn Partington in Seven Periods with Mr Gormsby and Catherine Duvall in Nothing Trivial. She also appeared as Laura Turner in the drama 800 Words, further cementing her reputation for grounded, emotionally precise performances.

Her film and TV credits extend well beyond New Zealand, including Black Sheep (Dr. Rush), Out of the Blue (Julie-Anne Bryson), and the fantasy feature Jack the Giant Slayer (The Queen). More recent work includes Pearl (Ruth), alongside projects like Derby Dogs, Raising Waylon, and Help, I’m Alien Pregnant, reflecting a versatile career across genres.
