Taylor Sheridan
Taylor Sheridan (born May 21, 1970, in Chapel Hill, North Carolina) is an American screen artist best known for writing modern, character-driven Western and crime stories. Working across film and television as a writer, producer, director, and actor, Sheridan has become a defining voice of contemporary Americana on screen.
He earned major acclaim with the screenplay for Sicario (2015), which brought a Writers Guild of America nomination, and then reached a new peak with Hell or High Water (2016), earning an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Screenplay. He later wrote and directed the neo-Western thriller Wind River (2017) and continued the Sicario saga with its 2018 sequel.
Before his breakout as a writer, Sheridan appeared on screen in series such as Veronica Mars and Sons of Anarchy (as David Hale), with additional credits including Star Trek: Enterprise and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. He also acted in projects like 12 Strong and White Rush.
On television, Sheridan co-created Yellowstone and expanded its universe with prequels 1883 and 1923, while also developing series including Mayor of Kingstown, Tulsa King, Lioness, and Landman. His influence has been recognized with inductions into the Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame (2021) and the Texas Business Hall of Fame (2024).
