Tim Miller

Tim Miller (born October 10, 1964, in Fort Washington, Maryland) is an American director whose career bridges blockbuster filmmaking and cutting-edge animation. With a background spanning producing, writing, and visual effects, he’s known for bringing sharp visual storytelling and kinetic action to the screen.

Miller rose to mainstream prominence as the director of Deadpool (2016), helping redefine the modern superhero film with its irreverent tone and stylized violence. He later directed Terminator: Dark Fate (2019), continuing his work on large-scale franchise cinema. His filmography also includes the notable credit Vulgar (as Gillian).

Beyond features, Miller created the animated anthology series Love, Death & Robots (2019–present), a project celebrated for its variety of animation styles and genre experimentation. The series has earned him multiple Primetime Emmy Awards in the short-form animation category.

A key figure in the VFX world, Miller co-founded Blur Studio and has contributed to acclaimed animation and design work. He received an Academy Award nomination tied to the animated short Gopher Broke (2004) and crafted memorable title sequences for films including The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2011) and Thor: The Dark World (2013).
