Timothy Olyphant
Timothy Olyphant (also credited as Tim Olyphant and Timothy David Olyphant) is an American screen actor born May 20, 1968, in Honolulu, Hawaii. He first drew attention on the New York stage in the mid-1990s, earning early acclaim and quickly building a reputation for sharp timing and an easy, confident presence.
Olyphant transitioned into film with a run of memorable supporting turns—often as edgy antagonists or unpredictable scene-stealers. Among his notable credits are Scream 2 (as Mickey Altieri), The Girl Next Door (as Kelly), The Broken Hearts Club: A Romantic Comedy (as Dennis), and Dreamcatcher (as Pete), showcasing a range that moved from thriller intensity to sly comedy.
His mainstream breakthrough came on television as Sheriff Seth Bullock in HBO’s western Deadwood, a role he later revisited in Deadwood: The Movie. On the big screen, he headlined action and suspense projects like Hitman (as Agent 47) and played the high-profile villain Thomas Gabriel in Live Free or Die Hard.
Olyphant cemented his status as a modern TV icon with FX’s Justified, earning an Emmy nomination for his portrayal of U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens. He has since balanced leading roles with standout guest appearances and genre work, including Santa Clarita Diet, Fargo, The Mandalorian, and a major role in FX’s Alien: Earth.
