Vicky Jenson
Vicky Jenson (also credited as Victoria Jenson) is an American director born on March 4, 1960, in Los Angeles, California. Working across animation and live-action, she has built a reputation as a distinctive creative voice and a prominent figure among Hollywood’s women filmmakers.
Jenson is closely associated with DreamWorks Animation, where she helped shape the studio’s early identity. She is best known for co-directing Shrek, a landmark hit that went on to become the first winner of the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature and launched one of the industry’s most enduring franchises.
Beyond her directing work, Jenson has appeared as herself in film and documentary projects reflecting on animation, filmmaking, and representation, including Hallelujah: Leonard Cohen, a Journey, a Song, The 4%: Film's Gender Problem, and Shrek: Once Upon a Time. Her credits also include voice work, such as the “Old Blue-Haired Woman” in Spellbound, underscoring her versatility in screen storytelling.
