Vinnie Jones

Vinnie Jones (born January 5, 1965, in Hertfordshire, England) is a British screen artist and presenter, also known as Vincent Peter Jones. Before becoming a familiar face in film and television, he built a high-profile career as a professional footballer whose toughness and intensity made him a headline-making figure.

From 1984 to 1999, Jones played as a defensive midfielder for clubs including Wimbledon, Leeds United, Sheffield United, Chelsea, and Queens Park Rangers. He was a key part of Wimbledon’s famed “Crazy Gang,” winning the 1988 FA Cup and making more than 200 appearances for the club across two spells. Eligible through a Welsh grandparent, he also represented—and captained—the Welsh national team.

Jones transitioned to acting with a breakout turn as Big Chris in Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, earning major newcomer recognition and quickly becoming a go-to presence for hard-edged roles. He followed with scene-stealing work as Bullet Tooth Tony in Snatch, cementing his status as a distinctive British character actor.

His credits span action, comedy, and genre fare, including Swordfish, EuroTrip (as Mad Maynard), The Midnight Meat Train (as Mahogany), Slipstream, Blast, and Played. That mix of physical authority and dry charisma continues to define his enduring on-screen appeal.
