William Fichtner

William Fichtner (also credited as Bill Fichtner and William Edward Fichtner) is an American screen actor born on November 27, 1956, at Mitchell Field Air Force Base in East Meadow, Long Island, New York. Raised in the Buffalo area, he built his reputation through sharp, grounded performances that often elevate ensemble casts.

Fichtner broke through in the mid-1990s with notable supporting work in films such as Strange Days and Heat, quickly becoming a sought-after character actor. His filmography spans major studio hits and acclaimed dramas, including Contact (as Kent), Armageddon (as Willie Sharp), The Perfect Storm (as David “Sully” Sullivan), and Black Hawk Down (as SFC Jeff Sanderson).

He’s equally recognizable for scene-stealing turns in high-profile titles like The Dark Knight (as the Bank Manager) and a range of late-1990s and 2000s thrillers and action films.
