Xie Miao

Xie Miao (also credited as 谢苗, 사묘, or Miao Xie) is a Chinese screen actor and martial artist born on May 2, 1984, in Beijing, China. He entered the entertainment world at a young age, bringing authentic physical skill to the screen thanks to a strong foundation in wushu.

Before becoming widely known as an actor, Xie earned top results in multiple wushu competitions, a background that helped shape his on-screen identity. He first gained major attention as a child performer, notably sharing the spotlight with Jet Li in popular 1990s action films where their dynamic played like a memorable father-and-son pairing.

As his career matured, Xie continued to build a reputation for action-driven roles across film and television. His notable credits include Destruction of Opium at Humen (Hua Jiliang), Thirteen Generals of Han Dynasty (Geng Gong), and Fight Against Evil (Li Hongqi), along with fantasy and period projects such as Fahai Don't Know Love and 大梦西游2：铁扇公主 (Sun Xiaokong).

In recent years, he has remained a recognizable presence in modern martial arts cinema, taking on lead work in Ip Man: The Awakening as Ip Man and appearing in titles like Champions and Empire of Assassins, continuing to blend athletic realism with crowd-pleasing storytelling.
