Yerkebulan Daiyrov
Yerkebulan Daiyrov (also credited as Erkebulan Dairov) is a Kazakh screen and stage actor born on August 12, 1986, in Karasaz village, Raimbek District, Almaty Region, Kazakhstan. He trained at the T. K. Zhurgenov Kazakh National Academy of Arts, graduating in 2008 from the Faculty of Musical Theater and Variety Arts.
He has been part of the Mukhtar Auezov Kazakh State Academic Drama Theater since 2006, building a reputation for disciplined, character-driven work. His achievements include the “Serper” Youth Union Prize (2013), the Baurzhan Momyshuly “Namys” Order (2015), and the honorary title Honored Artist of Kazakhstan (2018).
Daiyrov’s profile rose internationally in 2021 when he received the “Best Asian Actor” award at the Cannes Film Festival for his performance in Sunflower, directed by Eli Gilman. On screen, he is recognized for roles across historical epics and contemporary dramas, including Kazakh Khanate: Diamond Sword, The Legend of Tomiris (as Harasp), Qas (as Isatai), The Road to Home, and The Conquest of Siberia.
In his personal life, he married actress Leila Muratovna Tleuova on July 25, 2014. They have three children: daughters Kausar (born 2015) and Salima (born 2019), and son Bauyrzhan (born 2022).
