Zoe Kazan

Zoe Kazan (also credited as Zoe Swicord Kazan) is an American screen artist celebrated for intelligent, emotionally precise performances across indie and studio films. Born on September 9, 1983, in Los Angeles, California, she began acting on screen in the early 2000s and quickly became a sought-after presence for character-driven stories.

Her film work includes notable roles in Revolutionary Road (as Maureen Grube), The Private Lives of Pippa Lee (Grace Lee), It’s Complicated (Gabby Adler), Fracture (Mona), In the Valley of Elah (Angie), Me and Orson Welles (Gretta Alder), August (Gal Employee), and the indie favorite The Exploding Girl (Ivy). She has also appeared in acclaimed projects such as The Savages, Meek’s Cutoff, What If, and The Big Sick.

Beyond acting, Kazan is an accomplished playwright and screenwriter. She wrote Ruby Sparks and later co-wrote Wildlife with her partner Paul Dano, who directed the film.
