Anya Taylor-Joy
Anya Taylor-Joy (also credited as Anya-Josephine Marie Taylor-Joy) is a Miami-born screen actor who grew up between Buenos Aires and London, bringing a distinctly international presence to her work. She left school at 16 to focus on acting, building early momentum through small television parts before breaking through on the big screen.
Her arrival as a major new talent came with the lead role of Thomasin in The Witch, followed by standout turns in genre and indie favorites such as Morgan and Thoroughbreds (as Lily). She later expanded into period storytelling, including her acclaimed portrayal of Emma Woodhouse, while continuing to balance character-driven projects with high-profile studio films.
On television, Taylor-Joy gained wide recognition through roles like her run on Peaky Blinders and her award-winning performance as Beth Harmon in The Queen's Gambit. In recent years, she has moved fluidly between action, horror, and blockbuster franchises, appearing in films such as The Gorge (as Drasa) and Dune: Part Two (as Alia Atreides, uncredited), and voicing Princess Peach in The Super Mario Bros. Movie.
