Avan Jogia
Avan Jogia (also credited as Avan Tudor Jogia) is a Canadian screen artist born on February 9, 1992, in Vancouver, British Columbia. He broke through early with a standout turn as Danny Araujo in the TV film A Girl Like Me: The Gwen Araujo Story, signaling a performer drawn to emotionally grounded, character-first work.
After relocating to the United States in his late teens, Jogia built momentum across television, gaining wider visibility through series work including Caprica and the pop-culture hit Victorious. He continued expanding his range with leading roles in projects such as Twisted, Tut, Ghost Wars, and Now Apocalypse.
On the film side, his credits span indie drama and genre fare, including Rags (as Finn), I Am Michael (as Nico), The Outcasts (as Dave Quinn), Triple Dog (as Lemur), Johnny & Clyde (as Johnny), Door Mouse (as Mooney), and Choose Love (as Rex Galier). He also stepped behind the camera with the short film Alex, marking an early move into directing.
Beyond acting, Jogia has pursued music, writing, and advocacy. He co-founded the LGBT-focused online organization Straight But Not Narrow, and has published poetry and prose exploring identity and coming-of-age themes, while also releasing music with the band Saint Ivory alongside his brother, Ketan.
