Charlotte Rampling
Charlotte Rampling (born February 5, 1946, in England, UK) is an English screen artist celebrated for a career that bridges British cinema and European arthouse. Also credited as Tessa Charlotte Rampling, she became a defining face of the Swinging Sixties, first gaining attention as a model before moving into acting and later exploring music as well.
Renowned for working across languages and borders, Rampling has built a reputation for intelligent, emotionally precise performances in English, French, and Italian productions. Her presence—cool, enigmatic, and unafraid of complexity—helped make her a lasting muse for filmmakers and a style icon beyond the screen.
Among her best-known roles are Sarah Morton in Swimming Pool, Ellen in Heading South, and Margaret Krusemark in Angel Heart. She also appeared as Alice Pollock in Lemming and Milena Gardosh in Basic Instinct 2, alongside notable turns in Farewell, My Lovely, I'll Sleep When I'm Dead, and Chaotic Ana.
