Chris Hemsworth
Chris Hemsworth (also credited as Christopher Bruce Hemsworth) is an Australian screen actor and producer, born on August 11, 1983, in Melbourne, Victoria. Raised between Melbourne and Bulman in the Northern Territory, he built early momentum in Australian television before making the leap to international film.
Hemsworth first became widely known through the long-running series Home and Away, where his charismatic presence helped turn him into a breakout talent. That visibility opened the door to Hollywood, where he quickly moved from supporting parts to marquee roles.
His global profile skyrocketed as Thor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, beginning with Thor and continuing through major ensemble chapters like The Avengers, plus appearances such as Team Darryl and archival/voice material in the Marvel Studios' 2021 Disney+ Day Special. The role cemented him as one of the industry’s most bankable stars.
Beyond Marvel, Hemsworth has shown range across genres, from Star Trek to the thriller A Perfect Getaway and the cult-favorite comedy-horror The Cabin in the Woods. His filmography reflects a performer equally comfortable with action, suspense, and sharp comedic timing.
